Mr Patsy McGlone (Mid Ulster): To ask the Minister for Infrastructure when he plans to commence the further roll-out of 20mph speed limit schemes at schools in Mid Ulster.
Minister for Infrastructure: Part-time 20mph limits near schools are implemented based on assessments considering collision history, speed, traffic volume, infrastructure, and site constraints. Schools have been
assessed in accordance with DfI’s policy ‘Road Safety at Schools’ which can be viewed at:

The program to date has been rolled out in tranches, with the most recent completed in November 2022. Over the coming weeks, I will be considering my priorities, including the potential for a further tranche of the 20mph schools programme, in the context of the funding that is currently available to my Department.
