Mr Patsy McGlone (Mid Ulster): To ask the Minister for the Economy what support is available for businesses to help with the installation of solar panels.
Minister for the Economy: My department is working in partnership with Invest NI to deliver a new phase of its Energy & Resource Efficiency (ERE) Programme for Business. The Programme will include a new Energy Efficiency Capital Grant Scheme (EECG) which will be open to the wider business base.
The EECG will include grant support for energy efficiency measures along with low carbon and renewable technologies, all aimed at reducing emissions and helping businesses take control of their energy use by lowering their energy demand. The wider ERE Programme includes support in the form of Technical Consultancy, Resource Matching Through Industrial Symbiosis and Resource Efficiency Finance which are already in operation and the EECG will launch in the coming weeks.
