Mr Patsy McGlone (Mid Ulster): To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs, pursuant to AQW 12280/22-27, for an update on the development of an Artificial Intelligence policy at his Department.
Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs: The DAERA Artificial Intelligence policy, entitled “Securely Maximising the Benefits of Artificial Intelligence”, was approved on 5th November 2024 and published via the DAERA Intranet.
The policy outlines high-level principles and practical guidance for civil servants when considering the use and development of AI products. It aims to ensure the responsible and ethical use of AI within DAERA and enable effective and secure exploitation of opportunities in the delivery of public services.
