Mr Patsy McGlone (Mid Ulster): To ask the Minister for Infrastructure to detail the number of buildings his Department owns that have renewable energy systems installed, including (i) the name of the building; and (ii) the percentage this is of all buildings owned by his Department.

Minister for Infrastructure: A DfI Accommodation Group has been established and energy management is a standing item on the agenda. The group actively looks at ways to reduce our carbon footprint however not all buildings are currently suited to the introduction of renewable energy.

My Department has installed renewable energy schemes in the following buildings which it owns:

Lisburn Driver Vehicle Agency (DVA) Test Centre Lisburn
Omagh DVA Test Centre
Downpatrick DVA Test Centre
Hydebank DVA Test Centre
Hydebank House DVA Headquarters
Roads Laboratory – Carn Roads Depot

The percentage of buildings owned by the Department with renewable energy sources is 4%.
