Mr Patsy McGlone (Mid Ulster): To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs to provide a timeline for the bovine TB action plan.
Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs: The first meeting of the TB Partnership Steering Group took place at CAFRE’s Greenmount campus on Wednesday 29 January 2025. The second meeting of the Group is scheduled for Monday 17 February 2025 where further work on the development of a bTB delivery plan will take place.
The group will firstly focus on identifying the immediate priorities for action and the steps needed to put them in place. It will then work through the remaining proposals and report to me by the end of March.
It is my intention that this plan, which will draw upon the CVO’s proposals alongside actions within the 2022 bTB Eradication Strategy for Northern Ireland, will clearly set out our priorities to be taken forward in the time ahead to tackle the unacceptable levels of bTB in Northern Ireland.
