AQW 23932/22-27 – Language commissioners’ budget

Mr Patsy McGlone (Mid Ulster): To ask the First Minister and deputy First Minister to detail the budget that has been allocated for the office of each language commissioner.

First Minister and deputy First Minister: The business case provides for the establishment of the Office of Identity and Cultural Expression (OICE), the Irish Language Commissioner, and the Commissioner for the Ulster Scots and the Ulster British tradition and the initial operating costs of each new body.

In respect of both Commissioner’s offices, it provides that, following establishment, initial operating costs will amount to £1m per year, for the first two years.
