AQW 26917/22-27 – Social housing waiting list for Banbridge

Mr Patsy McGlone (Mid Ulster): To ask the Minister for Communities to detail the total number of applicants on the social housing waiting list for Banbridge, broken down by (i) general needs; and (ii) supported living.

Minister for Communities: This issue is an operational matter for the Housing Executive. I have sought the requested information from the Chief Executive of the Housing Executive, who has advised me as follows.

“There are a total of 492 applicants for Banbridge Town Common Landlord Area including 95 applicants with complex needs as at the end of December 2024.

Complex needs applicants may have special circumstances that mean they need extra care and support. The Housing Executive may consider these applicants for specialist housing schemes. These provide extra support or care best suited to meet applicant needs. Applicants may have a tailored support and care package in place to meet their needs and in that case may be considered for general housing.

As of 1st January 2025, there were 26 supported applications registered on the waiting list for Banbridge Town Common Landlord Area (CLA).”

For any future queries relating to operational matters, you may wish to contact the Northern Ireland Housing Executive directly with regard to matters that are their responsibility. Making direct contact with the Northern Ireland Housing Executive will ensure that you receive the information in the shortest possible timeframe and make best use of public resources.
