Mr Patsy McGlone (Mid Ulster): To ask the Minister of Education to detail the qualifications for membership of Education Authority moderation panels.
Minister of Education: The Education Authority (EA) has advised that:
There is no fixed qualification requirement for membership of Request for Involvement (RfI) Moderation Panels. To date, the panels have been made up of the EA’s most senior Special Educational Need and Disability (SEND) support specialists (i.e. the Heads of the Literacy, Autism, Language and Communication and Behaviour Services) overseen by the division’s Assistant Senior Education Officers.
The most senior SEND specialists across the Local IMPACT Team network will continue to have an advisory and quality assurance role across all Moderation Panels in September 2025.
