Mr Patsy McGlone (Mid Ulster): To ask the Minister of Education to detail (i) any assessment his Department has made of the Transition Year model in the Republic of Ireland; and (ii) and whether any consideration has been given to introducing a similar programme in post-primary education in Northern Ireland.
Minister of Education: My Department has not undertaken any assessment of the Transition Year model in the Republic of Ireland and it is not currently under active consideration by the Department.
