Mr Patsy McGlone (Mid Ulster): To ask the Minister for Infrastructure to detail the number of occasions, in the last ten years, that NI Water has employed the services of an experienced counter fraud specialist, in line with Recommendation 42 of the March 2013 NI Audit Office report, Northern Ireland Water’s Response to a Suspected Fraud.
Minister for Infrastructure: The issue you have raised is an operational matter for NI Water; however, I have sought the required information.
NI Water has advised my department that all NI Water investigations are carried out by trained investigators and that, on two occasions in the last 10 years, NI Water has employed the services of an external counter fraud specialist.
