Mr Patsy McGlone (Mid Ulster): To ask the Minister for Infrastructure how NI Water has complied with Recommendation 64 of the March 2013 NI Audit Office report, Northern Ireland Water’s Response to a Suspected Fraud.
Minister for Infrastructure: The issue you have raised is an operational matter for NI Water; however, I have sought the required information.
NI Water has advised my department that NI Water’s Internal Audit is informed of a suspected fraud at the same time as the Director of Finance and the Chair of the Audit Committee, as per NI Water’s Fraud Prevention Policy and its Fraud & Bribery Response Plan.
NI Water’s initial enquiries and reporting timelines are aligned with the Department’s Anti-Fraud Policy and Response Plan.
