Mr Patsy McGlone (Mid Ulster): To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs when he plans to publish the revised Nutrients Action Programme, following the current public consultation on the existing proposals.
Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs: The current public consultation on the proposed Nutrients Action Programme for 2026-2029 will close on 24 July 2025. After the consultation closes, I will set up a timebound stakeholder task and finish group to work collaboratively to propose measures that are evidence based and workable at farm level with realistic timeframes, while also meeting legislative requirements.
This will be followed by a further 8-week public consultation on updated proposals after which officials will consider responses. When the consultation process has been completed, I will bring a draft revised Nutrients Action Programme for 2026-2029 to the Executive for approval prior to publication.
