Mr Patsy McGlone (Mid Ulster): To ask the Minister of Health what monitoring is conducted for any side effects from the Pfizer BioNTech Coronavirus Vaccine in residents of care and nursing homes. [Priority Written]
Minister of Health: Health professionals are asked to report any suspected adverse reactions directly to the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) via the Yellow Card scheme. MHRA will consider all the information received and decide if the vaccine requires further investigation.
In addition to this health professional will also report any suspected adverse reactions via the Trusts’ clinical incident reporting system. These reports are shared with Departmental officials who will continue to monitor the situation.
