Mr Patsy McGlone (Mid Ulster): To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs what measures are being taken within the Future Agricultural Policy Proposals to support small farmers with holdings less than 10 hectares.
Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs: The consultation exercise seeking stakeholder views on my Future Agricultural Policy proposals closed on 15 February.
The proposals included a board range of proposed measures, for example, resilience, headage sustainability, farming for nature, farming for carbon, investment, knowledge and generational renewal etc that will be available to family farms.
No final decisions have been taken on the proposals and it is important that I take time to fully consider the responses to the consultation exercise on the next steps for the development of future agricultural policy for Northern Ireland.
