Mr Patsy McGlone (Mid Ulster): To ask the Minister of Education, pursuant to AQW 47406/22-27, to detail the estimated annual cost of implementing the revised nutritional standards for school food, agreed following the departmental review in 2021.
Minister of Education: The cost estimates made as part of the review of the nutritional standards for school food in 2021 were that there would be an annual additional resource cost of £3.3m and a one-off capital requirement estimated to be approximately £1.6m.
These additional funding requirements did not reflect the potential resultant loss of revenue to the Education Authority from reduced sales/footfall.
