Mr Patsy McGlone (Mid Ulster): To ask the Minister of Health whether his Department has a designated lead or responsible officer on his Department’s use of Artificial Intelligence.
Minister of Health: Responsibility for AI is exercised through existing digital leadership and governance arrangements.
Strategic responsibility for AI rests with the Chief Digital Information Officer, who provides leadership for both the Department and the wider Health and Social Care system.
Oversight of AI use is supported through established governance arrangements, including a regional AI Steering Group which coordinates policy, assurance and system‑level oversight.
