AQW 49600/22-27 – Adoption of The Mills development in Coalisland

Mr Patsy McGlone (Mid Ulster): To ask the Minister for Infrastructure, in relation to the proposed adoption of The Mills development in Coalisland by her Department, and given that works towards adoption were expected to begin this month, to detail (i) any outstanding NI Water works that are required before adoption can proceed, including any (a) commencement dates; (b) completion dates; (c) the reason for any delay; and (ii) when her Department now expects The Mills development to be fully adopted.

Minister for Infrastructure: The management of the public water and wastewater infrastructure is an operational matter for NI Water. I have sought further information from NI Water to inform the response to your question.

NI Water has confirmed that it has been liaising with DfI Roads regarding the Mills development in Coalisland, where a small number of outstanding minor defects have been identified, such as raising manhole covers and root cutting within the sewers. NI Water anticipates that this work will be completed by the end of August 2026, after which the wastewater infrastructure will be adopted by NI Water.

Upon receiving NI Water’s adoption certificate in respect of the wastewater infrastructure, DfI Roads will proceed with the required surfacing works as soon as practicably possible. Once completed, the development can be fully adopted.
