Mr Patsy McGlone (Mid Ulster): To ask the Minister of Health to detail any training that has been provided to staff in his Department on the use of Artificial Intelligence, including its limitations and risks, since February 2024.
Minister of Health: Since February 2024, no single, centrally mandated Artificial Intelligence (AI) training programme has been implemented across the Department.
However, a range of targeted training, awareness and capability‑building activities have been undertaken to support the safe and responsible use of AI technologies.
The Department’s approach has been to align training with the phased introduction of AI tools, ensuring that risks, limitations and governance requirements are addressed alongside their use.
