Mr Patsy McGlone (Mid Ulster): The Minister for Communities whether he has (i) investigated implementing a basic income for the arts, which provides artists with a weekly income; and (ii) any plans to economically support creative artists.
Minister for Communities: (i) I have no plans to introduce a basic income scheme for the arts sector.
(ii) Funding opportunities for both individual artists and arts organisations are available through the Arts Council of Northern Ireland.
