Mr Patsy McGlone (Mid Ulster): To ask the Minister of Justice to detail any recent assessment that has been made of the potential merits of the use of Artificial Intelligence technology to improve efficiency in the criminal justice system.
Minister of Justice: As recorded previously some of my officials use Microsoft Co-Pilot to aid with tasks such as background research, summarising complex documents, preparation of document templates and prioritisation of emails.
In terms of a wider assessment of the potential merits of AI to improve the efficiency in the criminal justice system, this will be part of the implementation of the new DoJ Digital Strategy which is currently under development.
