Mr Patsy McGlone (Mid Ulster): To ask the Minister of Health for an update on the proposed mental health hospital in Antrim.
Minister of Health: In December 2018, the Northern Health and Social Care Trust was given permission by my Department to progress the proposal for a Mental Health facility in Antrim to Construction and Procurement Delivery Health Projects Stage 1 – Preparation and Briefing – subject to the necessary business case approval being in place.
Stage 1 typically includes feasibility studies, surveys of existing sites or buildings and initial cost appraisals.
The business case is in the final stages of approval.
Further progress is also subject to funding being available.
