Mr Patsy McGlone (Mid Ulster): To ask the Minister of Finance whether the Chancellor of the Exchequer’s statement of 8 July 2020 made any consequential financial provision for the introduction of a Green Homes Grant in Northern Ireland.
Minister of Finance: In his statement on 8 July 2020, the Chancellor announced over £3 billion of funding for green buildings, including a £2 billion Green Homes Grant scheme to upgrade people’s homes.
The Executive will receive a Barnett consequential on any additional funding provided for the scheme. The amount has not yet been confirmed by the Treasury.
As with all Barnett consequentials it is for the Executive to decide on the allocation any funding received in line with local needs and priorities.
