Mr Patsy McGlone (Mid Ulster): To ask the Minister of Health when the review of Foster Care Allowances will take place for 2021/22, in line with the provisions set out in Section 17 of the UK National Standards for Foster Care.
Minister of Health: The Annual Review of Foster Care Allowances was undertaken by the Health and Social Care Board in September 2021. A 3% uplift to the Foster Care Allowances for the 2021/22 financial year has been agreed. A detailed schedule of rates was issued to Health and Social Care Trusts and other relevant agencies in October 2021.
The allowance rates are effective from 01 April 2021 and payments to foster carers will be backdated.
