Mr Patsy McGlone (Mid Ulster): To ask the Minister of Health whether the NI Fire and Rescue Service has initiated an investigation to establish whether the video footage of people singing about the death of Michaela McAreavey, recently circulated on social media, includes any of its members. Minister of Health: Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) utterly condemns the video on social media relating to the tragic death of Michaela McAreavey. I wish to reiterate my own condemnation.
Information online stating that one of the individuals involved is a NIFRS employee is incorrect. Following investigation, one individual has been confirmed as a former employee and has not been employed by NIFRS for a number of years.
