Mr Patsy McGlone (Mid Ulster): To ask the Minister of Education to detail any steps he has taken to move to strategic planning for the provision of education places for children with a Statement of Special Education Needs by the start of the school year, in order to break the cycle of reacting to pressures year on year.
Minister of Education: The Education Authority’s long-term vision is for every school to provide access to specialist provision classes, ensuring that all children with SEN can be supported within their local community alongside their peers.
Circa 60 projects have already been identified for progression for the 2026 academic year, demonstrating our sustained commitment to expanding current capacity across the education estate.
