AQW 31950/22-27 – NI Water whistleblower policy

Mr Patsy McGlone (Mid Ulster): To ask the Minister for Infrastructure (i) to outline the reasons why NI Water does not have a whistleblower policy available for public perusal; and (ii) will she place a copy of the full policy in the Assembly library. [Priority Written]

Minister for Infrastructure: The issue you have raised is an operational matter for NI Water; however, I have sought the required information and can advise as follows:

(i) NI Water has now published its Speak Up (Whistleblowing) policy on its website and this is available here Speak Up How to raise a concern . NI Water has advised my department that this policy is aligned with the NICS Raising a Concern Policy Framework

(ii) The policy is now publicly available through NI Water’s website.

For any future queries relating to operational matters, you should contact NI Water directly, through the Elected Representatives Hotline on 0345 300 6461 or through waterline@niwater.com.

Making direct contact with NI Water will ensure that you receive the information in the shortest possible timeframe and make best use of limited public resources.
