Mr Patsy McGlone (Mid Ulster): To ask the Minister for the Economy to detail (i) the number of occasions the Health and Safety Executive had reason to contact NI Water about health and safety practices at that organisation, since September 2024; (ii) any health and safety shortcomings identified as a consequence of that contact with NI Water; and (iii) what measures have been taken by NI Water to address those identified health and safety deficiencies.
Minister for the Economy: Since September 2024 the Health and Safety Executive for Northern Ireland (HSENI) have contacted NI Water on 48 occasions and this includes both proactive and reactive engagement. In terms of any shortcomings and remedial measures taken by duty-holders, Article 30 of the Health and Safety at Work (Northern Ireland) Order 1978 places a restriction on the release of such information by HSENI.
Such information could more readily be released by duty-holders.
