Mr Patsy McGlone (Mid Ulster): To ask the Minister for the Economy to detail any assessment she has made of the benefits of introducing measures to encourage the use of hydrotreated vegetable oil in domestic oil-heating systems.
Minister for the Economy: Earlier this year, following a period of stakeholder engagement, my Department carried out call for evidence to assess the role liquid biofuels, including HVO, could play in moving households and businesses away from fossil fuels for heating. This work is progressing through the final stages of analysis and evaluation prior to publication.
