Mr Patsy McGlone (Mid Ulster): To ask the Minister for Infrastructure when she will publish the minutes of the 13 meetings, between the 9 August 2022 and 27 June 2024, that officials from her Department held with officials from the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs on the factual position and legal position around (i) emission targets; (ii) carbon budgets; and (iii) the Climate Action Plan and its impact on the proposed upgrade of the A5 Western Transport Corridor.
Minister for Infrastructure: The Department’s position on these matters is clearly and comprehensively set out in the ‘Statement by the Department on the Report on the Public Local Inquiries into the A5 Western Transport Corridor Road Scheme’, as published in October of 2024 (specifically pages 148 – 166 therein address the PAC’s recommendations around climate change).
My officials are currently dealing with a Freedom of Information request in relation to the 13 meetings held with DAERA to which a response is expected to issue in the coming days.
