Mr Patsy McGlone (Mid Ulster): To ask the Minister of Justice to detail the number of (i) banded system transactions, air-rifles and rifles; (ii) variations, same type and calibre, for both air-rifles and rifles; and (iii) one off one on applications excluding banded system, that the PSNI’s Firearms and Explosives Branch has processed, for each month, over the last 12 months.
Minister of Justice: The Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Firearms and Explosives Branch, acting on behalf of the Chief Constable, are the relevant authority for firearms licensing in Northern Ireland. As this is an operational policing matter, the PSNI is best placed to provide you with the information you have sought in respect of firearms transactions.
