Mr Patsy McGlone (Mid Ulster): To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs to detail (i) the number of waste crime officers currently employed by the Northern Ireland Environment Agency in the Environmental Crime Unit; and (ii) the number of illegal waste sites which have a designated waste crime officer assigned to them.
Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs: I can confirm that NIEA Environmental Crime Unit (ECU) currently employ 15 investigators.
The ECU currently has 92 suspected illegal waste sites which have a designated investigator assigned to them.
