AQW 45333/22-27 – Occupational therapists training and support

Mr Patsy McGlone (Mid Ulster): To ask the Minister of Health to detail any steps his Department is taking to ensure that occupational therapists receive adequate training opportunities and support.

Minister of Health: My Department supports occupational therapists through a structured, regional approach to post registration education and professional development.

Trusts identify learning needs in line with regulatory standards, service priorities, and evidence-based practice. The Allied Health Professions Education Commissioning Group subsequently commissions appropriate training to maintain services, support workforce development, and promote continuous professional development, thereby helping to ensure occupational therapists receive adequate training opportunities and support.
