Mr Patsy McGlone (Mid Ulster): To ask the First Minister and deputy First Minister, in light of increases in fuel costs, whether any recent assessment has been made of the benefits of using renewable sources to power all vehicles used by their Department, and by any arm’s-length bodies.
First Minister and deputy First Minister: The four Ministerial cars owned by the Department since July 2022, are all petrol/hybrid. There has not been any recent assessment of the benefits of using renewable sources to power Departmental vehicles, although this will be a consideration when the vehicles are due for replacement. The same applies to the Maze Long Kesh Development Corporation, the only one of the Department’s arm’s length bodies that owns a vehicle.
