Mr Patsy McGlone (Mid Ulster): The Minister for Communities to detail any steps his Department is taking to support parent carers.
Minister for Communities: My Department provides Carer’s Allowance to eligible parent carers who provide at least 35 hours of care per week. An award of Carer’s Allowance may also provide access to additional financial support through certain other benefits, such as Universal Credit. In addition, my Department’s Make the Call service offers benefit entitlement checks to ensure any parent carers are accessing all of the support available to them.
