Mr Patsy McGlone (Mid Ulster): To ask the Minister for the Economy (i) how many people have still not received their High Street Scheme card; and (ii) what plans has he to extend the scheme to allow those who haven’t received it time to spend it. [Priority Written]
Minister for the Economy: There were just under 1.4 million successful applications to the scheme and we have delivered cards to 99% of those applicants at this point. There remain around eight thousand people who have yet to receive their spend local card.
I announced on 9 December 2021 that the spend period for the High Street Scheme is being extended for a further five days from the 14th to the 19th December 2021 to allow those who have not received their card time to spend it.
