AQW 31121/22-27 – Disabled Facilities Grant

Mr Patsy McGlone (Mid Ulster): To ask the Minister for Communities to detail (i) the total number of applications for a Disabled Facilities Grant currently in the system; and (ii) the number of patients waiting for a decision on an application for a Disabled Facilities Grant for more than (a) three months; (b) six months; (c) 12 months; and (d) 24 months.

Minister for Communities: This is an operational matter for the Housing Executive. I have sought the requested information from the Chief Executive, who has provided the following information.

(i) There are currently 2,040 DFG cases being administered by the Housing Executive through the various stages of the process.
(ii) 73 of these cases have reached the stage in the process where all completed documentation has been received and are waiting for an approval to start works. The total number of applicants who have been waiting for less than 3 months for this decision is 69.
The number of applicants waiting for this decision for more than (a) three months is 4; (b) six months is zero; (c) twelve months is zero and (d) 24 months is zero.
