Mr Patsy McGlone (Mid Ulster): To ask the Minister for Infrastructure to detail any road safety measures, including provision of a roundabout, that can be taken at the junction of the Hillhead and Oldtown Roads, Castledawson.
Minister for Infrastructure: On 2 February 2026, my Department commenced work to resurface 3.7km of Hillhead Road, between Old Town Road junction and Harmony Hill. This work is scheduled for completion on the 21 February, subject to favourable weather conditions.
Officials will continue to monitor this location to determine if any other safety interventions are required. As the provision of a roundabout at this location would require significant investment, it will be considered as part of future works programmes subject to available funding and other competing priorities.
