Mr Patsy McGlone (Mid Ulster): To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs, pursuant to AQW 38810/22-27, in relation to the seven inspections to the PAR Biogas Site in Tullywiggan, Cookstown, where odour was detected, to detail (i) how foul was the odour; and (ii) any remedial measures put in place to eradicate this.
Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs: Based on the standard 0-6 odour intensity scale, authorised officers recorded odour intensities of level 2 on two occasions, level 3 on four occasions, and level 4 on one occasion.
The operator did install a carbon filter to process air within the pasteurisation shed and is currently seeking advice on further odour abatement technologies.
