Mr Patsy McGlone (Mid Ulster): To ask the Minister for Communities whether his Department has used Artificial Intelligence to assist with drafting (i) legislation; and (ii) policy, in the last 12 months.
Minister for Communities: My Department uses Microsoft Copilot, an AI assistant which can be accessed as part of Office 365.
Officials may use Copilot alongside their professional knowledge and expertise, however this does not replace human decision-making. All policy and legislation is developed and reviewed by officials in line with established processes.
