Mr Patsy McGlone (Mid Ulster): To ask the Minister of Justice whether her Department has used Artificial Intelligence to assist with drafting (i) legislation; and (ii) policy, in the last 12 months.
Minister of Justice: (i) No, legislation is still drafted directly by staff.
(ii) Yes, AI was sometimes used at the initial stage to generate ideas and develop thinking; however, the output is always quality assured and then developed into policy by appropriate staff.
