Mr Patsy McGlone (Mid Ulster): To ask the Minister of Health whether his Department has used Artificial Intelligence to assist with drafting (i) legislation; and (ii) policy, in the last 12 months.
Minister of Health: The Department of Health has not employed artificial intelligence to assist with drafting legislation or policy in the past twelve months, as an official AI policy is currently being developed, prompted by the rapid advancement of AI technologies and the evolving needs within the health sector, underscoring the necessity for clear guidance and safeguards. Work on the Department’s AI policy is ongoing and it is anticipated to be finalised later this year.
