AQW 48098/22-27 – NI Water Electrical test reports

Mr Patsy McGlone (Mid Ulster): To ask the Minister for Infrastructure, given that the refurbished Westland House TX1 electrical test report for Northern Ireland Water of April 2024, identified one Code one defect, 30 Code two defects, and 117 Code three defects, and that the Westland House TX2 report identified 21 Code two defects, 227 Code three defects, and nine further investigation items, to detail, (i) the number of these defects that were referred back to the original installing contractors for rectification; (ii) on what dates were the remedial works carried out, to ensure the buildings were electrically safe and compliant; and (iii) the value of any additional costs incurred by Northern Ireland Water in relation to the identification and rectification of these defects.

Minister for Infrastructure: The issue you have raised is an operational matter for NI Water; however, I have sought the required information.

NI Water has advised my Department that:

all defects/snags at Westland issued in the reports that were in relation to the original scope of works have been rectified and closed out by the original contractor;

All works were completed by 26 November 2025; and

There were no additional costs incurred by NI Water.
