Mr Patsy McGlone (Mid Ulster): To ask the Minister for Communities whether any assessment has been made of the effectiveness of existing programmes supporting the diversification of high streets into leisure, cultural and community uses.
Minister for Communities: The Department supports regeneration and place-making across our towns and city centres through cultural, community, economic and physical interventions. These support the transition from a retail-focused model towards more multifunctional town and city centres.
The effectiveness of these interventions is primarily assessed through Post Project Evaluations which report that these initiatives help increase footfall, strengthen local economies and enhance the attractiveness and vibrancy of our town and city centres.
